This doesn’t happen with every book I read, but sometimes there is a quote or a scene that is so romantic or so hot, it brings a smile to my face, a tear to my eye or gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling that only true love can bring.
For instance, I just re-read A Legal Affair by Maureen Smith. The whole book is excellent and there are several scenes that stick out in my mind, but the one that affected me the most was at the end of the book, pages 289 – 294 to be exact :::giggling:::, when Caleb comes in and requests Daniela’s help finding a missing person. That is such a beautiful, romantic scene.
So, what are some of your most memorable quotes/scenes?

Hey Renee… Everyone knows that my favorite book is Topaz by Beverly Jenkins. Most memorable scene – When Dixon and Katherine spend their first night together as man and wife. Katherine is describing they way a man and woman are joined. He tells her to count for him…. She starts but doesn’t get any higher than 3. They never made love because Dixon told her she wasn’t ready. He would wait until she came to him.. That’s romance…
Girl yes it is! I love that scene! Might have to do a re-read of Topaz. LOL
I have so many scenes, but it just gets me when the man tells the woman, “Come Here”. You know something is coming. Lawdy!!!
ROFLMBO! Yes indeed!
The scene from the very first Westmoreland series were Delaney is kissed unconscious by Jamal. I’m still looking for a man that can do that. LOL
Just like Lareeta said that there are so many but my favorite is in Eternally Yours where Clayton has to see Syneda before they say their vows and kicks everyone in the bridal party out of the dressing room and pleads with his mom just to have a few moments alone with her.
This is a loaded one here!
OKay, here I go. I have so many that I could talk about, but if it is alright I will give two.(Just to narrow it down)
My first favorite is from Night Song by Beverly Jenkins. When Chase and Cara Lee are taking a bath together and her friend William walks in and Chase points the gun at him with one hand while still using his other hand to stimulate Cara Lee under the water. HOT!!
My second would be from Secret Love by Brenda Jackson when Jake goes to find his wife and tells he he came for his Diamond. I love that man! Oh yeah I can’t leave out when Luke went to find Catherine after he had figured out who was threatening her and kissed her, not realizing his mother Ruth was in the room. Now, I want to go read all these books again!
What a loaded question! Like you, almost every Beverly Jenkins book has great romance. But in addition to the historicals, I loved the kitchen sex scene between Max and Dr. Adam Gary in Sexy/Dangerous. Hot girl! Muy caliente. And since I just finished Captured by Bev Jenkins, the waterfall scene was so totally romantic I was ready to go find one and a man myself, just to enjoy the thrill and passion of it all.
Thorn’s Challenge after the race….Love that book.
Beyound Temptation! Morgan, Lena and a table. That’s all I’m going to say about that! (Fanning myself right now)
ohh, so many scenes! Favorite: ” A Little Dare” by Brenda Jackson when Dare tells Shelly, your mouth remembered me, I wonder if this will too. Ms. Jackson “Whispered Promises” Dex tells Caitlin, take a deep breath baby before he kisses her deeply. “Night Song” Chase to Cara Lee, don’t get smart, you’ll need a husband if you offer me what you offered last night. Maureen Smith’s “Whisper My Name” Sebastian to Tommy when she opens the door as if she was watching him the whole time, did you forget something? Without stopping, he rushes past her and says, yea, your sister!
I remember the ones that you all are talking about. Especially Delany. I also remember when Nicholas stopped and told Chayla to come and later in the book he looked at her and said, “Come again.” in True Love.
Cole’s Red Hot Pursuit – When Cole told Patrina that he was going to take her down off the shelf.
One Special Moment – Sterling to Colby that he planned to conceive his baby the old fashion way.
Ian’s Gamble and the Black Jack table.
A Little Dare – “Shelly, come over here so I can give you what you need.” on the front porch
Thorn’s Challenge – the motocycle
The Chase Is On – the chocolate scene
I know I kinda got carried away. This is just a few. There a whole lot more.
